No Makeup, Makeup

(Smashbox Liquid Halo, Chanel Vitalumiere, Make Up For Ever HD, Nars Sheer Glow)

Above you will find the top foundations that I have fallen in love with over time. Not only does it cover all my imperfections, it gives me the perfect sheen to my skin. Although I love my makeup, the last thing I want is for it to look obvious. A cake face has never been attractive in my book..

Smashbox Liquid Halo
This product is great for those who want a lightweight, medium coverage foundation. Plus this foundation also has SPF 15.
Great for Dry and Combination Skin Types.
Always apply a primer with this foundation because it will move around and smudge over time.

Chanel Vitalumiere
This product is great for those who want a natural matte, medium coverage foundation. This foundation has SPF 15.
Great for Oily and Combination Skin Types.
Always apply a primer with this foundation for a full stay power.

Make Up For Ever HD
Hands down one of the best foundations I have ever purchased. This product is great for all skin types, however if you are acne prone, I would consider mixing it with concealer to get full coverage.
Always apply a primer so that the foundation can easily be applied evenly all over the face.

Nars Sheer Glow
This product is great for those who want a natural sheer, light coverage foundation.
Great for Dry and Combination Skin Types.
Always apply a primer with this foundation because it tends to slide off during the day if not.

With all these products, however, the most important rule is to have a great skin care regimen. We all know that when your skin looks great, your makeup will look flawless as well.

Thanks for reading, I hope this helps with your foundation needs !

Summer Glow in the Winter

Over the years, I have tried to master the J Lo glow. It’s always dewy, never cake and always flawless in photos. To get the look, I may have finally figured out the trick.

In search of an inexpensive product, I began watching Youtube videos and reading many reviews on products that'll give you the ultimate glow. I came across the M.A.C Lustre Drops and fell in love. There are many ways to apply this neat product, however, I found it to work best when added to your foundation. A few drops will go a long way so use sparingly (about 2-3 drops). Plus it only comes in 2 shades, which makes life so much easier. The 2 shades are Sun Rush and Pink Rebel. The shade that will work best for you will determine on your undertone, if you are a yellow undertone, pick the shade Sun Rush and if you are a pink undertone, pick the shade Pink Rebel.

Another product that I have come across is the NYX Shimmer Sticks. I always make trips to my local CVS to test out new beauty products for affordable prices. I then found the array of NYX shimmer sticks and fell in heaven with high quality pigments. I've only purchased the shades Nude and Salmon. I would recommend the Nude shade to anyone for that ultimate glow. However, I did make the mistake of applying the shimmer stick right onto my face at first application. For the best application, apply the shimmer stick to the back of your hand, then get your favorite fan brush or blush brush to grab the pigments and dust on the high parts of your cheekbones (or above where you apply your blush).

The Infamous Kylie Jenner Lip

"Kylie Jenner is to 2014 what Angelina Jolie was to the ’90s: Practically every girl’s aspiration when it comes to lipstick. Famous for her puckered lip selfies on Instagram (and for being the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner empire that’s all but taken over the world), Kylie Jenner’s lip liner has become her signature look, and over the past year her lips have become noticeably larger and more plump. Some say it’s lip injections while Kylie refuses this claim, and others protest that it’s nothing but the magic of makeup."

Matte lips are in, thanks to Kylie Jenner bringing back that trend. There are tons of ways and color combos to get the look and here is the one I’ve been wearing lately. I use the M.A.C Whirl lip liner and M.A.C Brave lipstick. If you've been following Kylie Jenner's social media, you would already know that this combination is the exact one that Kylie uses herself. I use this combination everyday for a matte and plumper lip look.

The secret to the look is to line a little bit outside of your lips to give the appearance of fuller looking lips.
Liners are more waxy and if you apply them with a soft hand, they’ll stay a little bit better. If you have problems with bleeding, you may want to take a lip primer and apply that first. The primer can fill in the ridges. Just like it takes work to make the lip, takes work to maintain it.

If you want to take it a bit further for extra plumped up lips, use a lip plumper. I recommend Too Faced's Lip Injection Extreme. I use this on occasion for a dramatic pouty lip look and let me tell you, it works wonders! And for only $28 dollars, why even think of getting lip injections?

DIY Lip Exfoliation Scrub

Winter is coming ladies!
Get your lips ready with an easy to make lip scrub with ingredients that you probably already have at home!

Heres a recipe that I have been using myself whenever I want to prep my lips before a matte lipstick application or when my lips feel dry and cracked.

DIY Lip Exfoliation Scrub:
3 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon Olive Oil (or any oil you have in the kitchen)
1 teaspoon Vaseline or shea butter

Step 1: Mix the sugar and olive oil together until you can't see the sugar anymore.

Step 2: Add in the honey until you get the texture that you want.

Step 3: Finish off with adding Vaseline or shea butter.

Now enjoy your baby soft lips!

Here's an alternative product that you can buy that gets the job done just as well!

Fresh Beauty Sugar Lip Scrub Polish

Matte All Year Round

There’s nothing more exciting than finding an awesome drugstore lipstick. NYX cosmetics has done it again by adding new shades to their soft matte lip cream collection. The matte lip cream has a silky smooth texture when applied then finishes off with a matte touch, which makes this formula one of a kind.  The color pigmentation is amazing. Altogether there are 22 shades available that range from pinks, reds, corals, and deep plums.
I wanted to try this matte lip cream because of all the hype all over Instagram. I finally purchased the product at a local CVS, where almost all the colors were sold out. I managed to purchase the product in the shade, “Cannes,” which is a matte muted mauve color. I loved the texture, color, and even the smell, which has a light scent of cake batter! I purchased two more matte lip creams, and I tell you I’m hooked. I ended up buying the shades, “Istanbul,” a clean pink, and, “Antwerp,” a mid-tone, yellow toned-pink. All three colors are perfect to wear for everyday or even special occasions. The matte lip creams stay on all day and don’t come off, unless a lip pencil was applied. However, the NYX soft matte lip cream lip colors can accentuate the lines on your lips, so a lip pencil is not needed unless you want to dramatize the appearance of your lips.  These matte lip creams have now become an everyday essential for fall and probably will be in my makeup bag all year round.
Tips & Tricks: The NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams can dry out your lips, so preparation beforehand is recommended. A simple trick I use to moisturize my lips before had is my easy DIY lip exfoliation scrub. Once you put on the scrub, you just want to use your finger to massage the scrub all over your lips to remove any dead skin. After you feel like your lips are fully exfoliated, you can remove it with a napkin or damp towel. You will feel excess oil on your lips after removal. If you don’t like the after feel, you can brush over your lips gently with a toothbrush and remove the rest again with a napkin or towel. Once finished, apply Chap Stick to your lips. Your lips will feel baby soft and will even plump up a bit, which is also a major plus!

On my next post I will post a DIY lip scrub recipe made from ingredients that you probably already have at home !
